Earlier this year, members of the Montreal-based Anakbayan chapter spent a month in the Philippines living alongside our people. Through this exposure trip, we witnessed firsthand the semi-feudal and semi-colonial conditions of the Philippine society that continue to force thousands of Filipinos to leave the country every day in search of jobs abroad, like here in Canada.
Join us as we share our experiences, reflections, and lessons from the communities we immersed in, and discuss what these realities mean for the struggle of the Filipino people—both in the Philippines and in the diaspora.
