The Prisoner Correspondence Project is a solidarity project for gay, lesbian, transsexual, transgender, gendervariant, two-spirit, intersex, bisexual and queer prisoners in Canada and the United States, linking them with people a part of these same communities outside of prison.
Since its inception, one of the most significant barriers that the project has faced is the censorship of information and speech by prison mailrooms. Even the most benign materials–a form to fill out to be matched with a pen pal, or a list of free resources available from our library–have been flagged by prison staff as threatening to the security of the prison, and rejected. Repressive mailroom policies have direct consequences on the wellbeing of people inside, who are denied access to lifesaving information about harm reduction and gender/sexuality, or to handwritten letters from loved ones.
In this workshop, we will learn about some of the ways prisons use censorship as a tool of control–including through emerging technologies such as digital mail processing systems–, and how this affects prisoners; and will explore some methods of resisting censorship from the inside and the outside.

Manif-action contre le logement cher

Métro L'Assomption, (métro l'Assomption)
𝐋𝐢𝐞𝐮 𝐝𝐞 𝐝𝐞́𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭 : coin du Boulevard de l'Assomption et de la rue de Marseille (métro L'Assomption), un site revendiqué pour du logement social! 𝐏𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐪𝐮𝐨𝐢 𝐥𝐞 𝟏𝐞𝐫 𝐣𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐭 ?Parce que c'est la journée des déménagements. Le jour où la crise du logement cher ne peut être ignorée, où des milliers de locataires se retrouvent à la rue. Pendant ce temps, le gouvernement du Québec ne prend pas les mesures qui s'imposent, il empire la situation.
À l'approche des élections, aucun parti ne pourra contourner la question du logement. Le 1er juillet, on le leur rappelle.
𝐍𝐨𝐬 𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬On exige des solutions structurantes, à la hauteur de la crise : Un réel contrôle des loyers au Québec. Le développement massif du logement social. L'inscription du droit au logement dans la Charte des droits et libertés
Locataires, jeunes, familles, aîné·es, allié·es syndicaux et communautaires, citoyen·nes solidaires : c'est votre manif-action. Notre moment.

On July 1st, 2026, at 11am, the Coalition Against High Housing Costs (COLOC) holds its very first manif-action, simultaneously in 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗲́𝗮𝗹 and 𝗤𝘂𝗲́𝗯𝗲𝗰.
𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭: corner of Boulevard de l'Assomption and rue de Marseille (Assomption metro station) : a site being claimed for social housing!
𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐉𝐮𝐥𝐲 𝟏𝐬𝐭?Because it's moving day. The day when the housing crisis can no longer be ignored — when thousands of tenants find themselves out on the street. Meanwhile, the Quebec government isn't taking the necessary action. It's making things worse.
With elections on the horizon, no party will be able to sidestep the housing question. On July 1st, we're reminding them.
𝐎𝐮𝐫 𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬We demand real, structural solutions, ones that match the scale of this crisis:
1. True rent control in Quebec. To stop tenants from being pushed into poverty.
2. Massive investment in social housing. So that everyone can have a roof over their heads.
3. The right to housing enshrined in the Charter of Rights and Freedoms. So the law actually protects it.
Tenants, youth, families, seniors, union and community allies, solidarity citizens: this is your manif-action. Our moment.
Transportation will be organized from several regions. Contact your local housing committee.
