Queer Karaoke began on August 24th, 2025, led by Avery. It began with a mission of creating more queer spaces for queer snd trans people to find community and create joy. It has continued growing as an organizing initiative trying to make accessible, reduced risk spaces for trans and queer people to express themselves, connect to each other, and combine joy with resistance.
We could not have continued doing what we do without everyone who has been a part of this community. From the organizers and co-hosts, old and new: Avery, Thomas, Marianne, Gab, Lil, Zeynep, Mahalia, Maïnée, Val, Pat, and Simran. To the spaces that have hosted us: @coopbmp & @bluedogmtl 🩷 And, of course, to all of you, who attended our karaoke nights and open mics. You make the community what it is. We cannot wait to celebrate with you! 🪩🌟
