Panel on Migrant Justice
Join us for an in-depth and important discussion on migrant justice, led by organizers working with speakers from Centre d’aide aux familles latino-américaines (CAFLA), the Immigrant Workers Centre (IWC-CTI), and the Migrant Justice Clinic (CJM). This event will explore the lived realities of migrants navigating a province shaped by colonial borders, systemic racism, and increasingly hostile immigration policies.
The panel will begin with an introduction to the speakers and their organizations, offering insight into the work being done on the ground. The heart of the conversation will center on critical questions such as: How are migrant communities organizing in the face of structural barriers? What challenges do they face? And how are state policies, such as Bill C-2 and growing anti-migrant rhetoric, impacting their everyday lives?
We will explore intersections between migrant justice and other social movements, asking how solidarity can be built across struggles for Indigenous sovereignty, workers’ rights, climate justice, and more.
Whether you are a long-time ally or just beginning to learn about these issues, this is a space to listen, ask questions, and reflect on what it means to be in true solidarity with the migrant community.
