QPIRG-McGill and the @gsfssa.mcgill are teaming up to present a very special, and very free, screening of CRIMINAL QUEERS (2016), a queer abolitionist camp classic.
📍3475 rue Peel
🗓️ Thursday, February 12
🕰️ 6-7:30 pm
🍿 Free popcorn!
CRIMINAL QUEERS visualizes a radical trans/queer struggle against the prison industrial complex and toward a world without walls. Remembering that prison breaks are both a theoretical and material practice of freedom, this film imagines what spaces might be opened up if crowbars, wigs, and metal files become tools for transformation.
@prisonercorrespondenceproject will also be tabling and talking about the conditions of queer/trans prisoners today.
ACCESSIBILITY INFO: Unfortunately, this venue is up one flight of stairs and therefore not wheelchair accessible. The movie will be presented in English with subtitles.
