Le port de Montréal continue de faire du lobbying pour le développement portuaire à Contrecoeur et les infrastructures pour le marché du conteneur. Venez montrer votre opposition aux développements des infrastructures portuaires destructrices au participant-es du déjeuner conférence de Julie Gascon (PDG du port de Montréal).

Allons leur rappeler les faits :

Le nombre de conteneurs au port de Montréal stagne depuis 2014

Le port de Montréal est utilisé à seulement 75% de sa capacité

Montréal et Contrecœur non navigables pour 70% des porte-conteneurs

Le port de Montréal a la pire cohabitation industrielle du monde (OMV – UQAM 2021)

Registration is now open for the second workshop in our winter series, Queerer Times and Alternative Futures, facilitated by Hanss Lujan Torres (@haannssl)! 

This workshop explores queer temporality and futurity through collective discussion and shared making. Rooted in 2SQTBIPOC lived and collective experiences, it engages broader timescapes to make sense of the “queerer” times we are all living through. Inspired by texts on temporality and futurity found in Dick’s Lending Library, the workshop invites participants to reflect on how futures are imagined when time is understood outside heteronormative, colonial, and linear frameworks. The workshop creates space for a generative conversation about how time is experienced, what constitutes the present, and what it means to imagine queer, trans, and nonbinary futures. 

Following the discussion, participants will engage in a hands-on collage and drawing activity, using images, texts, and materials to create their own clocks and calendars as speculative timekeeping devices for imagining and building possible futures. Materials will be provided, but participants are encouraged to bring anything they’d like to include in their collages.

Facilitator Bio: 

Hanss Lujan Torres (he/him) is a researcher, writer, and curator from Cusco, Peru, currently based in Tiohtià:ke/Mooniyang/Montréal. His research and writing explore various notions of time, particularly how artists reimagine it and reflect on the precarious conditions of the present. He works with subjugated archives and queer temporalities to imagine alternative futures.

This workshop was made possible with the support of the English Language Arts Network’s Trellis Micro-grant project. The Trellis Micro-grant project, funded by The Department of Canadian Heritage’s Official Languages Support Programs, seeks to highlight English-language Arts and Artists to make them visible to a broader community, and build bridges between Québec’s English-speaking minority and Francophone majority.

CATS est un projet d’organisation politique par et pour les travailleuses du sexe basé à Montréal, dédié à la lutte pour de meilleures conditions de travail dans l’industrie du sexe!

Cette soirée est consacrée à la rencontre de travailleuses du sexe militantes et d’anarchistes, au partage de nourriture, d’idées, de rage, et à la construction d’une véritable solidarité. La soirée débutera par une courte présentation de CATS sur l’organisation et la résistance des travailleuses du sexe.

La soirée se poursuivra avec la projection de Live Nude Girls Unite! Un documentaire sur des travailleuses du sexe qui établissent un syndicat à San Francisco à la fin des années 90!

Join us for a supper with SWAC (The Sex Work Autonomous Committee), in collaboration with ORA (L’Organisation révolutionnaire anarchiste).

CATS is a political organizing project by and for sex workers based in Montreal that is dedicated to fighting for better working conditions in the sex industry!

This night is about meeting militant sex workers and anarchists, sharing food, ideas, rage, and building real solidarity. The evening will start with a short presentation by CATS on sex worker organizing and resistance. 

The even with a screening of Live Nude Girls Unite! A documentary on sex workers establishing a union in San Francisco in the late 90s!
